Iconic Peacoat with English style lapels, wide and three-button closure. Cordage to shelter the neck from ‘attmosferic exposure. Made in a variety of fabrics, including waterproof materials for wetter exposures. Pockets on body provide shelter for hands through a warm, soft lining. Body and sleeves are kept warm by the Air Warm* system, which can thermoregulate the body according to outside temperatures. Gros-grain on the eyelets gives this Peacoat true Camplin charm. Royal Navy sailors were at the mercy of rain, wind, and waves, and their boats often offered little protection from the elements. Survival depended on good clothing; in fact, British sailors treated their cotton canvas with plant resins, which prevented the canvas from getting soaked, keeping it light and efficient in high winds.
